Jacob's Farming Contest is an Event that takes place every 3 SkyBlock Days (1 real life hour) and lasts for 20 real life minutes. During the event, players have a choice of 3 crops to farm, which are picked at random, meaning they have to increase their Collection while competing against other players.
The players who increase their collection the most within the time limit obtain various rewards.
Participation
In order to participate in this event, you first must speak to 
Jacob with 
Farming Level 10 or higher.
When a contest starts, you must increase your Collection by 100 of one of the three crops to be eligible for a reward. If you obtain over 100 of 2 or 3 of the crops, the collection you've increased the most in is used.
Brackets and Rewards
There are 5 brackets you can place in within a contest. Which one you get is determined by how much your Collection increased in comparison to other players. For example, reaching BRONZE requires you to be in the top 60% of players, or 70% if Finnegan is the elected Mayor.

Jacob's Tickets are items that can be traded at 
Anita in the Farmhouse for various items.
Carnival Tickets are items that can be used to play minigames in the Carnival.
Turbo-Crop books are Enchantments that can be put onto your Farming Tools and will grant you +5 
Farming Fortune per tier (up to level 5) for the specific type of crop. Tier IV books require a BRONZE Medal to be obtained in that type of crop, while Tier V requires a SILVER one.
Medals
Medals are a type of currency obtainable from finishing contests in specific brackets, as shown above. They come in BRONZE, SILVER, and GOLD varieties, and they are primarily used at Anita in the Farmhouse to purchase various items and upgrades.
Medals can be exchanged back and fourth between each of their types for the following costs.
