Heart of the Mountain

The Heart of the Mountain is a skill tree for Mining, unlocked in the Dwarven Mines. Leveling it awards Tokens of the Mountain, which can be spent on the various Perks found within the tree.

Mechanics

You can access the Heart of the Mountain menu from the Mining skill menu or by typing the /hotm command.

You gain gain Heart of the Mountain XP by completing Commissions in the Dwarven Mines or Crystal Hollows, participating in various Major Mining Events, or completing the Crystal Nucleus in the Crystal Hollows. The first 4 Commissions of a day also grant an extra +900 HOTM experience.

Your Heart of the Mountain tree can be reset, reimbursing all powder spent on the skill tree besides the Core of the Mountain which can never be reset, making it a permanent perk. When you reset the skill tree you keep all of your HOTM XP and Tokens of the Mountain. The first reset is free, and any resets afterwards cost 100,000 Coins.

Pickaxe Abilities

Pickaxe Abilities are right-click abilities unlocked from certain Heart of the Mountain perks the are automatically applied to Pickaxes, Drills, and the Gemstone Gauntlet. They can be accessed when the player reaches Heart of the Mountain Tier 3, and uses their Token of the Mountain to unlock them.

If the player owns more than 1 mining ability, they are able to swap between them in the Heart of the Mountain menu. Only one can be active at once.

The Sky Mall perk can possibly reduce mining abilities cooldowns by 20%.

Both Core of the Mountain 2 and the Blue Cheese Goblin Omelette Drill Upgrade Module provide +1 level to each ability, up to level 3.

Pickobulus can be used once you reach Heart of the Mountain Tier 3. It only requires Heart of the Mountain 2, but you need tier 3 to have enough Tokens of the Mountain to reach it.

Throw your pickaxe to create an explosion on impact, mining all ores within a 3 block radius.

Increases the chance for you to trigger rare occurrences by 30-50% for 30s.

Pickaxe Ability: Maniac Miner RIGHT CLICK
Grants +1 Breaking Power and a stack of +5-15 Mining Fortune per block broken for 25-35s. Each block broken consumes 20 Mana.

There are multiple ways to reduce the cooldown of a Pickaxe Ability when it's used:
