An Attribute Shard is a COMMON Item obtained from the Kuudra boss fight.
Obtaining
Attribute Shards can be found in the chests obtained when defeating Kuudra. The free chest will spawn in a random attribute shard if at least 60% of the fight has been completed, and the paid chest will always spawn in a random attribute, though that chest only shows up if you successfully defeat Kuudra.

Another way of obtaining Attribute Shards is Lava Fishing on the Crimson Isle: Both Thunder and Lord Jawbus have a chance to drop one.
Usage
An Attribute Shard always has 1 random Attribute at level 1 placed onto it when its created. This can then be used in an Attribute Fusion menu to upgrade the attributes of an item or attribute shard with the same attributes at at least the same or a lower level.
