The Crystal Hollows is a randomly-generated Mining area. It is the primary source of Gemstones.
Purpose
Crystal Hollows is a series of caves with randomly generated structures dispersed throughout the area for the players to find. Once in the Crystal Hollows, players can either follow the tunnels, or branch away into the unknown. The stone outside of the tunnels is harder than usual, but very rich in Ores and Gemstones. Gemstones are a new type of ore found in the Crystal Hollows, they are special minerals imbued with power, each Gemstone is affiliated with a different SkyBlock stat.
Once the player levels up their Heart of the Mountain to tier 3, they can talk to Gwendolyn to purchase a Crystal Hollows pass to begin their journey into the Crystal Hollows.
Mining
Inside the Crystal Hollows mined blocks are not replaced with bedrock; instead they are removed. Along with this blocks can be placed in most areas. Ores that require a furnace do not require Smelting Touch to be obtained.
Stone is replaced by Hard Stone within the Crystal Hollows, which is harder to break than Stone. Gemstones, Mithril, and vanilla ores spawn within the Hard Stone.
Yields from vanilla ores are increased within the Crystal Hollows.

Treasure Chests
Treasure Chests are chests that can spawn in the Crystal Hollows, either when mining or in pre-determined locations in various structures.
Treasure Chests are loot chests that can spawn when mining in any section of the Crystal Hollows. Treasure Chests can also spawn in pre-determined locations in various structures.
The loot gained from these chests is dependent on the area that you are mining in when the chest spawns.
Treasure Chests have a 0.2% chance of spawning when mining blocks in the Crystal Hollows. This chance can be increased from the following sources:
Treasure Chests have a 95% chance to contain low tier loot, and a 5% chance to contain high tier loot. Loot is rolled 3-6 times per chest.
When Treasure Chests spawn, small particles will be displayed on their front side. Each time you look at the particles, they'll move to a slightly different position, and you have to successfully look at each set of particles 5 times in a row to unlock the chest.
